Anatomy and Conditions - LASH LIFT

Allergies

Allergic reactions to YUMI™ Lashes are extremely rare, however there is always the possiblity that a portion of the lid may become swollen, red or itchy.  Clients who suffer from allergies of any kind must have a patch test.  Many allergy suffers take antihistamines, which can leave eye dry.  If this applies to your client, YUMI™ Lash treatment can be applied, but you have to be very careful.


Alopecia

If your patient has suffered from Alopecia, and no longer have lashes, they unfortunately cannot benefit from the YUMI™ Lash Lift Treatment.


Cataract

This is opacity, or a veil, in the natural lens of the eye. Cataracts are more common among the elderly.  A third of adults over 65 and over have cataracts in one eye or both.  Cataracts do not affect the ability to have YUMI™ Lash Lift treatment.


Chemotherapy

If your patient has undergone Chemotherapy, and no longer has lashes, they unfortunately cannot benefit from the YUMI™ Lash Lift treatment.


Conjunctivitus
(pink eye)

Conjunctivitis (aka. pink eye) often leads to red eyes purulent secretions, feeling gritty, and occasionally the eye lids may stay stuck together, especially after sleep.  The vision is not affected in most cases.  Clients with Conjunctivitis CANNOT receive YUMI™ Lash Lift treatment.


Contact Lenses

Client must remove their contact lenses before treatment.


Diabetic Retinopathy

Diabetic Retinopathy is a disease of the retina caused by diabetes.  Diabetic Retinopathy does not affect the ability of the client to receive YUMI™ Lash Lift treatment.


Dry Eye Syndrome

This is extremely common; people with dry eye syndrome usually suffer from burning, itchy, red eyes and tearing.  Clients with dry eye syndrome can receive YUMI™ Lash Lift treatment, but they may be allergic to the glue. Please use a patch test.


Glaucoma

Glaucoma is an increased pressure in the eye and is characterized by damage to the optic nerve, with consequent visual loss, initially located in the periphery, but may gradually lead to loss of vision.  Glaucoma does not affect the ability of the client to receive YUMI™ Lash Lift treatment.


Latex Allergy

If client has latex allergy, you must use vinyl or latex-free gloves.


Pregnancy &
Breastfeeding

We strongly recommend that clients DO NOT receive YUMI™ Lash Lift treatment during pregnancy or while they are breastfeeding.


Trichotillomania

This is when a person has an irrepressible urge to pull their hair, eyelashes and eyebrows.  If your client suffers from Trichotillomania, they unfortunately cannot benefit from YUMI™ Lash Lift treatment.
